There is this perverse notion in Canada that you must wear a helmet when riding a bike…
After all in places such the Netherlands or Denmark people are just dropping dead on a consistent basis from falling off their bikes, aren’t they?
I ride a bike nearly everyday year round and can’t fathom the idea of wearing one. I especially can’t fathom the idea of people who never ride a bike telling me I must wear one. Whether I wear a helmet or not it doesn’t effect your safety!
Want to bring up Canada’s public health care system? Fine, lets also talk about the number of people who suffer head injuries from car accidents, slips, falls, those who smoke, drink etc. Where does it end?
When exactly did we become this bubble wrap society? Parents nowadays lock their kids in the house at the risk of getting a little cut from playing in the yard.
I know some do, but do you really want cyclists to look like this?
